Question 1

Sheingold (1991) said that teachers will have to confront squarely the difficult problem of creating a school environment that is fundamentally different from the one they themselves experienced (p. 23). In what ways is the current K-12 environment different from the one you experienced? Do you feel this presents an obstacle to effective use of technology in your teaching? What are some strategies you feel might help teachers overcome this obstacle? Not Scored:

Some ways that the current K-12 environment is different from the one I experienced is:1.) I didn't have computers in my classrooms2.) I didn't have smart boardsI am worried that this will present and obstacle for me to beable to effectively use current technology in my teaching since I am not as technologically advanced as some students. I know how to use a computer but I don't know how to do certain tasks on the computer but I am hoping that this class will bring me up to speed with current technology.
